Tricone in a style O body

Tricone in a style O body

Tricone in a single cone body. It’s true, see them three little circles? That’s a tricone soundwell. If I posted this on Facebook I would still get “that’s not a tricone” , but you guys know better. I’m a big fan of doing traditional things a different way-a guitar should be transparent and also inspiring. I kept the style O shape because it looked more traditional and less like a spaceship. It turns out the very first prototype National was designed this way, before they knew spaceships were a thing. You can tell the shape was drawn around the cones because it fits so precisely. The sound is more a typical single cone song that a a typical tricone and you can thank the aoundholes for that. They make a dramatic difference is tone. A surprising amount. A tricone in this set up gives a little bit of compression and sweetness on the high end. #thenewsoundofsteel #resosforsomgwriters
