The Tallest Mule. When doing something new do you wait until the grand reveal or let people in on the secret? Marketing strategies be damned… here’s a 12 string Mavis with soundboard back in the works for @surfburst He needed a sword in the stone to pull musical impossibilities from so here we go… all 12 strings of it. Soundboard back? I was playing a Mavis one day and thought about the thinner area of the body under the sound well might be acting like a soundboard. That idea combined with YOUR feedback about loving to play the Mavis acoustically even though it’s a solid body guitar. So I planed the body to the sound well and set a roasted spruce back on shims around the perimeter. So the back is free floating. 12 strings of fury getting pumped through a resonator cone and then banging into a spruce soundboard? It’s gonna be cool.
