    I saw Charlie Parr play at the Pabst Theatre in Milwaukee a few years ago. He was opening for Derek and Susan. It’s a big place.

    He played his set and got a standing ovation. One guy sitting on keyboard stool he padded himself and a guitar. It wasn’t a polite standing ovation. It was raucous. Derek and Susan came out on stage to give the ovation with the crowd. Everyone got what kind of moment was happening and it exploded. They had him play another one. He played “Ain’t No Grave Gonna Hold My Body Down”.
