Jazz Fest

Jazz Fest

Hey New Orleans! I’m headed your way. I’ll have resonators you can check out at the craft tent this weekend at JazzFest if you’re into that sort of party. Let’s be friends.

Also I’m pulling a Homer Simpson and will not leave your fine city until I move up a weight class. Any recommendations on dining establishments, breakfast in particular, are appreciated.

Stop by Economy Hall and say hey to the old white haired sound guy (that's my dad) Richard of Sound Services longest serving company on Jazz Fest!

Do an airboat tour! You won't regret it if you get the chance

I would recommend Mollys Rise and Shine for breakfast on magazine street (the chicken on a biscuit is great) and also Mothers on Poydras street-a bit of a tourist destination but very good Crawfish Etouffe Omelette and great biscuits too (the only thing I eat there when friends come town)

po-boys and crawfish at Franky and Johnnies, a neighborhood joint on Arabella street uptown and oysters too are very good there as are the crawfish!

po-boys at Parkway bakery are good and closer to the fairgrounds

enjoy!

Matt,

Here's the spot short list...

Breakfast South Shore of Ponchatrain Lakeshore Diner...Ridiculous-everything...excellent bloody marys.

PO Boys n Music...River Shack on River Road Metarie, ancient spot...walls are covered with pics of celebs/musicians...music 3 nights a week or so...carch a craw fish boil on the weekend. Local fare.

Maple Leaf on Oak St. Dive bar with live local and national blues and jazz acts...you may see anyone in this place...jam sessions...the s**t.

Cooter Browns off Saint Charles a block or so Oak Street district...Oysters and local fare.

You won't see these in a brochure...real Norlins stuff.

You will find loads of food vendors at Jazz Fest...all of it flippin great...but the spots I mentioned are the real deal for locals...Maple Leaf and The River Shack will put you in the music spots.

Best,

Jason Logsdon
