I first heard Nat Myers when Kris Hammond - affectionately known around the shop as the Mule Queen - sent me an instagram video of his. He was in his room, long hair bunched up underneath a tilted hat. He started fingerpicking. 

It was the old time country blues fingerpicking of old but it was completely new.  It was rough in all the right places, it sounded like three men picking on their porch at the same time. 

And then he sang. A voice bigger than the bedroom he was in, bigger than the northern Kentucky town he lived in.  It sounded like I was listening to a 1930's record through a phonograph. I texted a friend the video I knew would love it. 

Nat started traveling and playing more. Beginning of last year after his health began to suffer.
