THUNDER Mule

Behold my bass-playing brethren, the THUNDER Mule!

Basses are rad and this one is made out of steel. A hollow steel resonating chamber attached those big ol' strings.  The sound can only be described as THUNDER. Ok - and a little more.  The hollow steel body imparts a 3D element to the sound much like it does to the Mulecasters, and it being made from steel keep definition in the notes that's tough to describe. It's something to be felt.

I'm super excited to offer these.  The only options to pick at the moment is the color. Pictures of the colors can be found here:  https://www.muleresophonic.com/photo_albums/1988755/photos

We are currently using Aguilar pickups but we are going to keep trying things to find the best fit. Roasted maple neck and ebony fingerboard.

Dont freak out because they are steel - they weigh the same as a wood P Bass.

The thunder bass sounds great for presence and attack but I also like very deep bottom as well, which I'm not hearing in the videos.

Have you ever considered doing a duolian bass with a fat neck pickup, and a piezo on the biscuit?  The National doesn't really have a decently long scale neck for bass, and I would like to have pickup options.  I have liked the way that the metal body duolian bass recordings I've heard sound, and I think that as long as I had a fat neck pickup option I could dial in some really interesting sounds.

By the way, I made my own mavis like guitar out of an original silver MOT National Resophonic, added dearmond gold foil pickup and piezo on biscuit and modified an epiphone neck to fit the round back neck slot so I had a longer scale neck.  I saw that one of them you had on your site had the knobs up above the neck -- I did the same thing, they're easier to get to there, and they look like they belong there.

Hello what is the scale? 34? the weight?

Thank you!

Are the color options the same as a mulecaster?
