The inspiration we wait for is the easy type. The motivational phrases, other people’s stories of achievement that we envy- the jobs, the songs, the life. ⁣⁣

The inspiration we can create is the uncomfortable type. The risk, the untried, the burning boats. The inevitable failure. We make ourselves be beginners, we make it harder on ourselves than we can get away with, we choose to confront our own thoughts and opinions. We can use discomfort as a radar for where we need to be. We go to war with the way we do things. We commit to doing something we don’t know how to do. What comes from that tossing and turning and trying to overcome it and learn is inspiration.
