Music connects people across cultures and time. We know this. But what does that mean? That we can all play music? That we like it?

More and more I hear similarities in music styles. Whether it’s Arjun @zthtx in a field in India, @brichaimbeul playing small pipes in Skye, or @charlie.parr stomping all over the world I’m hearing more similarities between the music than differences.

Alright so what?

I think the power of music is the reminder that we’re more alike than we are different. We spend our days inclined to believe that our challenges are exceptional, our pain is original, and our joys are unrelatable. And then we hear words about those unknowable things carried into our hearts by music. It’s an extraordinary blessing.
